Experienced. Personal. Private.
We continue to care for our patients as best we can during the COVID-19 situation. To help, we have put in place a secure videoconferencing system for both new and existing patients. Please see “Online appointments” above for further information. If you wish to set up a consultation or follow up appointment, please call the clinic and leave a message or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org; we will get back to you shortly.
The Ontario Ministry of Health recommendations to limit the spread of COVID-19 continue to change. On March 20th, we received a directive from our professional regulatory colleges, as per Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, instructing group practices to “immediately cease or reduce to minimal levels all non-essential and elective services.” Considering this message, as well as the increasing rate of spread in the community, we have decided to change our approach to the care of our patients.
As the health and safety of all must come first, we are temporarily cancelling in-clinic appointments. We will reassess the situation on April 3rd or as more information becomes available. If you have not already called to cancel your appointment, your therapist will be in touch shortly to do so and arrange proper follow-up.
We may provide in-person services for those considered urgent, on a case-by-case basis, depending on our initial phone or video consultation. Patients with urgent conditions may include:
1. Post-surgical patients (within the last 6 weeks)
2. Post fracture patients (with recent cast removal)
3. Acute injury that significantly limits mobility and quality of life eg.muscle/ joint injury or concussion as a result of a slip and fall, motor vehicle accident, or other similar injury
4. Sudden onset dizziness or vertigo
For people who feel they may benefit from a remote, online appointment, we have arranged to deliver care with a secure and encrypted video conferencing service. This service may assist you with the following:
1. Answering questions or concerns about a condition or injury
2. Provide recommendations for self-care about your condition or injury
3. Provide instructions in a home exercise program or progression/modification of an existing exercise program.
Please see “Online Appointments” (above) for more information. While this solution is not ideal, tele-rehabilitation has been effectively used by Canadian physiotherapists for several years. If you aren’t sure about online appointments, we are happy to schedule a brief video chat to see if it works for you.
Please call or email if you have any questions or concerns, and we will get back to you as soon as we can; phone and email messages will be monitored throughout the day. As always, we are here to help you. Be kind and take care of each other.
