Michelle graduated from the physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto in 1991. She worked at Toronto General/Toronto Western Hospitals for several years gaining knowledge and skills in areas including orthopaedics, cardiac surgery and rehabilitation, thoracic surgery and the lung transplant program. In 1995, Michelle presented at the World Congress in Physical Therapy in Washington, DC on exercise testing of lung transplant candidates.
In 2000, Michelle received a post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists. In 2016, Michelle completed a Master’s Degree at the University of Western Ontario that included a research project in the area of assessment of individuals with concussion. In addition to her concussion management expertise, she has experience in all areas of orthopaedics, with a special interest in spinal and shoulder disorders. Michelle is certified in the treatment of vertigo and dizziness (vestibular rehabilitation) by Emory University in Atlanta and in acupuncture by Acupuncture Canada.
Michelle is a past instructor in the Health Sciences Department at Georgian College, teaching exercise rehabilitation. In addition to her work in-clinic, she has worked in an industrial setting gaining experience in the treatment of injured workers and on the field with university soccer and hockey teams.Michelle believes an active lifestyle is the key to a long and healthy life.
