Nicole obtained her Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Kinesiology from The University of Western Ontario in 2003 and completed her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2006, also from The University of Western Ontario. Nicole has continued her education with post-graduate courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, functional movement screening, neural mobilization, and therapeutic taping. In 2015, Nicole received a Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. Nicole is certified in Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and certified to practice Acupuncture by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. She is also a registered authorizer for mobility devices with the Assistive Devices Program.
Nicole’s treatment approach includes a comprehensive history and physical assessment to determine client-centered functional goals. Treatment may include hands-on manual therapy techniques, acupuncture, muscle stimulation, therapeutic taping and individualized activity specific exercise programs to help clients achieve their goals.
Nicole has gained valuable experience working in a variety of settings such as, orthopaedics, neuromuscular rehabilitation, general surgery, home care and cardiorespiratory therapy. She has worked with athletes of varying levels and has provided on-site physiotherapy for soccer, volleyball, basketball, figure skating, triathlon and track and field events. During her final year in the Kinesiology program, Nicole was the trainer for the University of Western Ontario varsity women’s volleyball team.
In her spare time, Nicole enjoys traveling and staying active by playing volleyball, ball hockey, skiing and participating in yoga classes.
