Nancy has been practising as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner for 16 years and as a Certified Athletic Therapist for 25 years. Nancy is an Active Member the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO). She is also an Active Member the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) and the Institute of Athletic Therapy (iAT).
Nancy is a graduate of the Sheridan College, Sports Injury Management Program, the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto, Ontario with a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice, and a BSc(Hons) Osteopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (Plymouth University). Starting in the fall of 2023, she entered a distance learning Masters in Osteopathy through Metropolia University in Helsinki, Finland.
Always striving to offer the best possible care, Nancy regularly attends conferences, courses, and seminars. Past courses include nutrition, pediatrics and motor development, women’s health, fascial and structural work, treating Concussions, philosophies related to Osteopathic Treatment and Osteopathic Endocranial Spasm Courses as well as keeping up to date on fitness training methods and functional movement.
Nancy currently serves as the OAO President and was previously the Chair of the Professional Practice and Conduct Committee. Nancy is a Past President of the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths (CFO) and served on their Board from 2014 – 2021. Nancy is also a member of the Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) Nominations Committee and sits on Osteopathy Europe (OE), formally EFFO, Policy and Education Committees. Nancy is a founding Board Member for iAT and currently serves as a Board Member. Through her governance and committee work, Nancy works to promote Athletic Therapy and represents the profession of Osteopathy at workshops and conferences locally, across Canada and around the world.
As an Athletic Therapist, Nancy has worked at competitions ranging from recreational level to the international stage. She was previously the Athletic Therapist with the Stayner Siskins Junior C Hockey Club, the Head Therapist for the Burlington Barracudas in the former Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) and was with the McMaster Men’s Varsity Soccer team for 10 years. Nancy volunteers for Provincial and Canadian Games as well as provincial team training camps and local events whenever possible.
As a Canadian Red Cross First Aid/CPR and First Responder instructor, Nancy offers courses to therapists and local businesses. She also offers non-certification workshops for those interested in first aid but not seeking certification. Due to her unusual schedule, her courses are booked on a on-demand basis.
Nancy was an instructor for the now discontinued Ontario Sport Alliance Sport First Aid and Tape and Wrapping program and has developed a series of Tape and Wrap workshops for high school SCHISM programs and others looking to learn the basics of athletic taping, support techniques and return to play assessment.
Nancy has been a member of the Snow Patrol at Hardwood Ski and Bike for 30 years and enjoys giving back to the community (and skiing). You can often find Nancy hiking with her dogs, working with her horses, or exploring the areas offerings. She founded Action Rehab Therapy in 2000 and enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities. She runs her clinical practice out of QuinnRehab in Barrie, ON.
